We reported yesterday thatt Apple might unveil a new 15-inch MacBook Air sometime in 2023, but Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says it may not be branded as an ‘Air’ laptop. Kuo believes that the device might not carry the ‘Air’ branding, and mass production could happen at the end of next year.

Kuo posted a tweet yesterday claiming that the newly rumored 15-inch MacBook laptop may not be branded under the ‘Air’ name, and it may be called something else. The device will likely contain an M-series chip, and it will be designed to consume 30W of power, the same as the 2020 MacBook Air. Kuo also says that if all goes to plan, Apple should be able to mass-produce the device in Q4 2023.

In a separate tweet, Ross Young claims that the upcoming MacBook will have a 15.2-inch display, instead of the previously seen 15.2-inches. He also says that the 2022 MacBook Air will increase from 13.3-inches to 13.6-inches, likely slimming down on the bezels. The 15.2-inches could suggest that we might see another laptop with a notch, since the new 16-inch laptop also went to 16.2-inches last year, but it’s only speculation for now, and we don’t have any confirmed leaks.

Apple is expected to upgrade the Mac Pro at WWDC with a new processor that’s even more powerful than the recently announced Apple M1 Ultra, and we expect to see the new M2-series of chips sometime at the end of this year, or in the first half of 2023.
